I didn’t realize I’d most likely come up with the “first shopping cart” design when I pixel-hacked the icon using “Deluxe Paint.” At the time all “interactive design” was distributed on floppy disks in the mail that stored 1.44 MB of files. audiohighway.com was founded by Nathan Schulhof who imagined audio being downloaded to a device in 1994. In June of 1996 I joined audiohighway.com and designed the Internet distribution system for downloading audio to the Listen Up Player. We actually succeeded in producing a working prototype of the system by October, 1997.
